If life were a book (or a cliche), I would be writing a new chapter. Or just a blog.
If this year were a chapter, it would be a turning point, a transition from a long and chaotic build-up into the important and defining movement. If it were a hero-quest, our protagonist (or is it antagonist?) would have finished a long and confusing journey of seemingly unrelated events, and now he's sitting on a hilltop overlooking the city and the picture is starting to come together. The losses, the wounds and scars, the trials and training and endless nights of "Why?" shrink as the view zooms out and a fractal emerges. The random disconnects, meld and shift and an image appears. He knows what he must do. He sees who he was, and who he is meant to be. The unfamiliar strength in his hands and legs beckons forth to action. There is a task, a mission, and lingering doubts. The battle inside will continue, but the battle ahead subsumes it. And maybe it's all alot of bullsh*t. Or maybe it's the most important thing to ever happen. He sharpens his sword, tightens his belt, and raises his buckler. Upward and onward. For Honor, for Courage, to the Fight...
